About
Paola Terán is a Peruvian director, screenwriter, and executive producer working between genre cinema, emerging technology, and new models of audiovisual production. Trained in Film Directing at the New York Film Academy, screenwriting through the London International Screenwriting Festival, and Fiction Series Writing at ECAM in Spain, she brings a traditional filmmaking background into an increasingly experimental practice. After twelve years working professionally in film editing, her current work focuses on horror, science fiction, and fantasy, exploring how AI, virtual production, and hybrid workflows can expand the way stories are developed and produced. She is the founder of ARCANO, a Latin American production company developing genre-driven films, series, and experimental projects, and collaborates with creative AI platforms including Kling, CapCut, InVideo, and SHAIKE. Her work is particularly interested in bridging Latin American storytelling with the new creative ecosystem emerging around AI filmmaking.
