Robert Faldner has been working as a director, DoP, writer and composer for over 15 years — with more than 150 TV commercials, several documentaries and film scores. He has lived in Spain, Germany and Asia, and worked internationally across Europe, Asia and the USA. As co-producer he won the Silver Lion at the International Festival of Creativity in Cannes (TV spot "Handicap"), and as co-writer & director he was part of the award-winning 2007 production "Backseats Out" for Mercedes-Benz Smart — also honoured with the Silver Lion at Cannes. In 2011, his TV spot "Aus wirklich aus" was nominated "Germany's Best TV Spot" by the weekly newspaper DIE ZEIT. He has collaborated with, among others, Wolf Haas, Elmar Wepper, Wotan Wilke Möhring, Philip Hobbs (Executive Producer – Stanley Kubrick) and Veith Heiduschka (Wega Film). Through his agency in Germany he was represented by The Firm (NYC) and Rolling Pictures (Cape Town). Together with two colleagues, he has completed the script for the first season of the TV series SCHÖNer BRUNNzn; negotiations with two international production companies are currently underway. The film score is nearly finished, and work on the second season is already in progress. His film scores have screened at the Hong Kong International Film Festival, Vivid Sydney, and the International Film Festival Munich (1st Prize, Goethe-Institut), among others.
